Bruce Edward Twedell Wilson, age 45, of Winston-Salem, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. He was born Nov. 5, 1965 in Springfield, Mo. He served in the Marine Corp. He was preceded in death by his biological father, Bruce Edward Twedell.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa Arnold Wilson of the home; two sons, Marshall Wilson of the home and Christian Allen of Winston-Salem; his mother and stepfather, Lois Hall and George ?Butch? Wilson of Mims, Fla.; seven brothers and six sisters-in-law, Sam and Lynn Twedell of Florida, David Peacock and Amy Kissenger of Texas, Doug and Alethia Twedell, Danny Twedell, Jeff and Kayci Twedell, Darrell and Johnna Twedell and Andrew and Amanda Twedell, all of Missouri, four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Brenda Peacock Ricks, Debra and Mark Caldwell, all of Florida, Melisa Twedell and Angie and James Cromer, all of Missouri; his maternal grandmother, Kathleen Moore of South Carolina; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, John and Stephanie Keever; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Jan. 18 at Mount Carmel Union Baptist Church in the Turkey Knob community with burial in Kennedy cemetery with full military rites.

Linda McIntyre Isner, age 82, of Sparta and formerly of Wingate, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011 at Forsyth Memorial Hospital in Winton-Salem. She was born on Oct. 26, 1928 in Union County to the late Charles Black and Ruby Perry McIntyre. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters; a brother; her husband of 61 years, Robert Burns Isner II; two sons, Robert Burns Isner III and Charles David Isner; and a daughter, Priscilla Faith Isner.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, David Burns and Jacquelyne Isner of Sparta; two grandsons, Perry Reeves Isner and Evan David Isner, both of Sparta; two granddaughters, Katherine McIntyre and Charlotte Grace Isner, both of Albuquerque, N.M.; a great-granddaughter, Olive Ann Isner of Albuquerque; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and students.
Memorial services will be conducted Friday, Jan. 21 at 11 a.m. at Sparta United Methodist Church.

R. Philip Hanes Jr., age 84, of Winston-Salem and Roaring Gap, died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011 in Winston-Salem. He was born in Winston-Salem on Feb. 25, 1926 to the late DeWitt Chatham and Ralph P. Hanes Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Joan Audrey Humpstone Hanes; and a sister, Anna Hanes Chatham.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Charlotte Metz; a sister, Martha Hanes Womble; and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life was conducted Wednesday, Jan. 19 at Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church in Winston-Salem.

Sandra Nichols Brooks, age 40, of Ennice, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011 at Duke University Hospital in Durham. She was born Jan. 19, 1970 in Statesville to Jerry Nichols and the late Linda Anderson Nichols. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Aubrey Brooks; and a brother-in-law, Tim Brooks. She was a shipping manager for Tri-State Components in Sparta.
She is survived by her husband, Shelton Brooks of the home; two sons, Joshua Brooks and Jacob Brooks, both of Ennice; her father, Jerry Nichols of Moravian Falls; her mother-in-law and stepfather-in-law, Carol and Bob Murphy of Sparta; two sisters-in-law and spouses, Kathy and Tommy Poindexter and Denise and Jeff Wyatt, all of Ennice; two nephews, Jeffrey Roten and Jordan Roten, both of Ennice; two nieces, Laura Brooks of Charlotte and Sarah Brooks Baker of Ennice; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Daniel Lafayette Taylor, age 82, of Laurel Springs, died Monday, Jan. 3, 2011 at his residence. He was born Dec. 9, 1928 to the late Daniel Lafayette and Charity Ennice Mabe Taylor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank Taylor, Jack Taylor and Dean Taylor; and four sisters, Grace Pruitt, Dot Miller, Faye Hines and Tina Hash.
He is survived by his wife, Ulene Hart Taylor of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, David and Shelia Taylor of Laurel Springs; three grandchildren and spouses, Daniel and Stacie Taylor, Tracy and Missy Taylor and Parker Taylor; four great-grandchildren, Summer Taylor, Danielle Taylor, Morgan Taylor and Myra Taylor; and one brother and sister-in-law, Stuart and Myrtle Taylor of Sparta.

Carlos Alberto Munoz, age 44, of Piney Creek, died Monday, Jan. 3, 2011 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Enrique and Rosa Zaldivar.
He is survived by his parents, Francisco and Teresita Zaldivar Munoz of the home; two brothers, Francisco Munoz Jr. and Jose Munoz, both of Piney Creek; his paternal grandparents, Orestes and Teresita Munoz of Miami, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
Dorothy Keith Guynn, age 74, of Fries, Va., died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. She was born Jan. 29, 1936 in Wythe County, Va. to the late Walter and Vergie Sawyers Keith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Conley Guynn.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Debbie Guynn of State Road; two granddaughters, Lindsey Utt and Megan Jennings; four step-grandchildren; and a brother, George Keith of Ennice.

Wanda Wagoner Dixon, age 66, of Sparta, died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. She was born on Feb. 11, 1944 to Romie Wagoner and the late Clarice Wyatt Wagoner.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Belinda Pruitt of Mouth of Wilson, Va. and Doug and Teresa Pruitt of Belews Creek; six grandchildren, Brittany Pruitt, Ashley Pruitt, Dustin Pruitt, Corey Pruitt, Travis Rogers and Taylor Rogers; two great-grandchildren, Scarlett Pruitt and Colton Pruitt; her father, Romie Wagoner of Laurel Springs; one brother, James Wagoner of Laurel Springs; one niece, Angie Key; and two special caregivers, Anna Reed and Kathy Crouse.

Jennie Pauline Blevins Church, age 92, of Sparta, died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. She was born in Ashe County on Jan. 30, 1918 to the late George and Lucy Ann Watson Blevins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lee Church; and four brothers, Curtis Blevins, Welter Blevins, Dempsey Blevins and Woodrow Blevins.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret and Tommy Witherspoon of Sparta and Louise and Charles DeBord of Lake Mary, Fla.; five grandchildren and spouses, Steve and Sabrienna Edwards of Roaring Gap, Michael and Ginger Edwards of Goldsboro, Tonya Houck of Piney Creek, Daryl and Lisa DeBord of Haymarket, Va. and Denise and Scott Carlson of Lake Mary; and 10 great-grandchildren.
